Dr. Meikei Ieong received his PhD degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from University of Massachusetts, Amherst and MBA degree from the MIT Sloan Fellows Program at MIT School of Management. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of United Microelectronics Centre Hong Kong Limited, focused on research in artificial Intelligence Chips & Systems and 5G applications. He was Chief Technology Officer of Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (HK ASTRI), responsible for the overall R&D strategy and execution of key research initiatives. Prior to this, he held various leadership positions in leading technology companies, including Vice President of TSMC Europe B.V., 28nm R&D Director at TSMC, Taiwan, and senior manager of Exploratory Devices at IBM T.J. Watson Research Center. He was adjunct professor at the Electrical Engineering department of Columbia University, NY. He is a Fellow of the IEEE. He served as editor for the IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices. He was General Chair of the IEEE International Electron Devices Meeting (IEDM) (2010) and served in the technical committee in many international conferences such as IEDM, VLSI Technology Symposium, EDTM, VLSI-TSA, IWCE. He served in the Board of Governor of the IEEE Electronic Devices Society (EDS) and was chair of the IEEE EDS Education award committee.
